Hit & Run
Hit & Run was formed in Boulder, CO in 2001 as a touring act. Led by vocalist Rebecca Frazier, the group has been steadily active for over two decades, performing their own youthful, authentic, charismatic and expertly played version of bluegrass around the country.
In their early years they played festivals and gigs across the U.S., winning the SPBGMA International Band Championship, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the Rockygrass Bluegrass Festival within the span of four years. In their time they have shared live bills with Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Jerry Douglas, Hot Rize, Alison Krauss and David Grisman.
In 2006, Rebecca Frazier became the first woman to appear on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. In 2017, Paste Magazine deemed Frazier one of ‘7 Women Smashing the Bluegrass Glass Ceiling.’
The band has released three studio albums. Their third album, released in 2007 through CMH was a playful bluegrass tribute to America’s favorite cartoon. Four Finger Music: The Bluegrass Tribute to the Music Made Famous by The Simpsons gathered fourteen tunes that made Springfield sing and delivered all new bluegrass renditions of each of them.
The group now tours as Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run Bluegrass. The lineup consists of Rebecca Frazier on guitar, Isaac Eicher on mandolin, Mike Sumner on banjo, Erik Alvar on bass, and Nate Leath and Christian Ward on fiddle.
